Trust4Futures: Going Deep in Technology, EU Skills Development and Addressing The Gender Gap

11 min readJul 4, 2025

--

Like it or not, AI will replace superficial skills and knowledge, and so we need to all move up our skill and expertise levels — otherwise we will be made redundant. And, so, we have had the opportunity to develop some deep skills with our EIT Digital DTTI-funded Trust4Futures project [here] — and a partnership between Edinburgh Napier University, Istanbul Blockchain Women and TAGES RDI.

Overall, it has been a great journey, and with nearly 1,000 registrants, of which 55% were female. In the programme, we went deep into the coverage of areas such as cryptography, blockchain and cryptocurrency, AI and Cyber, Post Quantum Cryptography, Homomorphic Encryption and Zero Knowledge Proofs.

Along the way, we delivered talks from world leaders in cryptography, including Whitfield Diffie (co-creator of the Diffie-Hellman key exchange method), Aggelos Kiayias (leader in areas of blockchain and cryptocurrency), Anna Lysyanskaya (leader in privacy-aware cryptography), and Chris Peikert (leader in Lattice-based cryptography).
