The Grand National and Post Quantum Cryptography: The Race is on!

Although, in Scotland, it can be a bit damp and chilly outside at this time of the year, I always know when Summer is coming when I see the Grand National coming up. But there’s a different race at the current time, and this one is focused on breaking the digital security of the planet and processing at speeds that seem inconceivable.

The race is on!

It’s a race of nation-states for global supremacy.

It’s a race for the major technology companies to become the true dominant computing force on the planet and to develop super intelligence.

This is the race to build a computer that uses photons rather than electrical currents and where our digital gates for AND and OR are replaced by photon gates. It is the strive to create the greatest computation engine ever!
